Typical Willie @ The Backyard show....Rainy

April March 6th Willie Nelson is playing at The Backyard. We'll be there. This will be the 3rd time to see him. However it will not even compare to the Stubb's concert since we will be sitting back on the 20th row. General Admission is the only way to go, Stubb' rocks.

So true! The Stubb's concert was perfect. This one consisted of the usual rain soaked concert. I did manage to get some pics, but you have to understand that I was using a first generation Sony Mavica. This camera was good, but this was also 3 yrs ago. WOW! A lot has changed since then. At least now I can post better pics.

Now, I am going off this from 3yrs memory. We ended up just making it. Steve's truck, Old Blue, was giving us troubles. The ride out was in the pouring rain. Not that big of a deal, except when the shield wipers ARE NOT working. They would work now and then. At one point we were looking outside the window telling Steve where to drive I was often wiping the window with a towel. How we didn't get into a car wreck I still do not know, except that Old Blue knew where we were going and never let us down. A good truck she was!

Getting there sort of late we quickly went into the venue. I opted to leave my rain coat inside if I remember correctly. Stupid move, cause while it had stopped raining all the seats were wet. The ushers were kind enough however to wipe the seats down with a wet towel, THANKS. We were located on the back rows, far on the left side of the stage. I was positioned under a large oak tree which proceeded to drip on me almost all thur the concert.

Given the negatives the concert was pretty good. My pictures turned out like crap but they are good enough for me to remember. Perhaps years from now when I am old I will still have access to these pics. Hopefully ThoughProcess will have morphed into a mega-conglomorate and I will be able to pay for hosting with my meager social security between feedings on catfood.

Los Lonely Boys were there which is always a treat. I was able to see these guys before they blew up and started doing full page spreads for Sony Vaio. Before some skank tried to lie about Ringo and his wife date-raping her. The salad days of the LLB. Now they are too big to open for Willie. Now they pack in venues own their own. More power to them though, albeit bitter sweet. At least they are making it big. While no talent ass clowns like Jessica Simpson and her horse of a sister get multi million dollar deals bands like Los Lonely Boys get passed by day after day.
