One Crazy weekend (video will play in IE)

Thursday Night:
Wow, how much fun was this. I must say it was a good, but bruising, Labor Day Weekend. It all started with driving up to Steve's Thursday. While up there we started preparing before the lovely trip top the airport to pickup Frank flying in from Miami. Finally 11pm rolled around and we had Frank with us. We stopped to pick up a few items at the store, namely 2 cases of Corona.

The Corona began to seep into Broadway Steve's blood system because before long he was doing the shuffle off to buffalo in his living room.

Friday:
Friday, after waking up with quite the hangover I noticed we managed to have polished off only a case of of the corona. Maybe a little more but not that much. But I guess considering we didn't get started drinking until around 12 after picking up Frank we didn't too bad.

While 2 dozen Krispy Kremes would have been excellent we had to settle for the taco shack down the street. A burrito and two tacos later we went back to the house for a little Tiger Woods playoff btwn Karl, Steve and I. After PS2 Steve beat us all it was time for Pool Pics. It was all worth it :) Pool Pics

So anyways, around mid day Elisabeth showed up and we packed our bags and headed out to the lake. But first we had to get a few supplies, namely more beer, some food, and more beer.

Back on the road, Labor Day was evident because cars and boats heading for the lake were everywhere. Just a few more minutes we would be ready for the weekend. We stopped off at HEB to grab some much needed 3 cases of beer, chips, and some really nice ricey shorts for Frank.

Once we got to the house there wasnt much going on. The best thing was that we talked John into letting us borrow his boat for the day Saturday. This was so awesome of him, since we had a few people with us hanging out on the pontoon would have been crowded and we all know what that leads to...Mr Grumpy pants. So with that deal in the pocket we decided to head over the Rock House for a few rounds of horseshoes. Mean and Steve started tearing it up after we warmed up.

Laura came up to hang out for a while since Joe was down in Mexico at the Donkey Show. We all hung out there for quite a while till Nelly and his motley crew came rolling in from the "sunset cruise". Finally after a while we decided to hit the hay. It was going to be a long day tommorow and wee needed some rest.

Saturday:
Well we woke up fairly early, around 10 :) The plan was to go to the Mobil station which has the best mexican food within 50 miles. Noe had been up at the slab that night and we said we would stop by to eat breakfast. Laura was supposed to go, but she had a bit of the brown bottle flu :) After chowing down on that we went over to the Warden's house to pick up a receiver hitch for the Tundra to pull Johns boat.

After quite a while of messing around we finally got to the good part of getting the boat in the water. Once everything was situated we headed out at full speed, a whopping 1200RPM. We maxed out at maybe 10MPH. But hey you cant drink beer in a boat at plane, there is a reason that a pontoon boat is conducive to our lake livin lifestyle. With tunes blaring and the boat idling down the lake we were in route to Cow Creek cove for the day.

This is a great place to hang out, its like Devil's Cove without all the people, and unfortunately the other thing Devils Cove is known for. But regardless it was a relaxing place to hang out. We picked out a spot near the back of the cove and Anchor man Frank threw out the anchor. Now frank being the Nautical man he is knows how to anchor a boat. I swear the damn Houstonites that pulled up around us must have spent half a tank of gas trying to anchor their boats. Note Steve's impression of Pavoratti. You can't beat Lake Livin.

Note the tan line around steve in the above pic, he didnt believe he would burn the week before. Pretty soon came the phone calls from Levi. He was stuck on papa smurfs wild pontoon ride and wanted us to come pick him up. Sure thing....After a few hours of phones call pleading to come pick him up we started over there. We weren't gonna just up and leave, we had a good spot, we were comfortable and we werent leaving the damn spot till we ready.

So with the boat secured and the motor shut off after its grueling ass kicking it received coming over here we decided do to what we do best, be Lake Trash. Volume at max and beer abound we began a nice relaxing day that was beyond expectations. DJ Hogg-E-Ballz was at the controls for music, thankfully Johns boat had a decent Amp and set of speakers in it.

Consequently we ran off the surround boats nearby, Yes. When we anchored there were about 3 boats close to us, after a few mins of loud music they decided they should get back to the sh!thole houston they came from, giving more reason for me to develop a sticker that says GO BACK TO HOUSTON! With the surrounding neighboors gone we just sat back and soaked up the sun. It was such a nice day out too, a bit cloudy with a steady cool breeze coming thru the cove. I must say it was nice.

So around 6ish we started heading over to Bar-K where the fireworks were to take place. Near the campground we saw Nelly and his crew at the campgrounds. After picking up Levi we headed back out onto the lake and into another cove facing the point where the fireworks were to be held. And hold to our Lake Trash reputation, when we pulled in there were a few boats nearby, once the anchor dropped and the music started off they went. There we stayed until the fireworks were over. It was a great spot, right in front and out of the fallout zone. The music was spinning and the beer still flowing. We even got a video of the cops harrrasing people as can be seen in the opening page.

The fireworks this year were great, they lasted a long time and what was best is Lago was the only place on the lake that had em. While I was bummed Lago waited to light them off, I was glad because it was well worth the wait. If you look to the at the above pic, notice the ghostly image next to Steve. Anyways, after the fireworks were over we were the last ones to leave. And it took us about 2hrs to drive back LOL. It was great though. It was so quiet out and we had the music BLARING down the lake. Liz decided to see what it was like to dance on a pole like a stripper. Unfortunately we didnt get any mpeg of that. Slowly we made it back to Drapers. But it was still early, so we headed over to Calcaisu cove and hung out there for awhile. Pretty soon we all passsed out for a while. Then Levi as usual is hungry, so we head back over to the trailer and dock the boat.

Ann had some honey baked ham which we devoured in about 15min. It was the best ham sandwich ever let me tell ya. After all day of drinking, being in the sun on the water, and a bottle of 151 we were tired. Frank was wheezing and could hardly breathe, he was passing out on the deck at Ann's house. So it was time to go to bed. We still had 2 more days to go.

The next day we woke up, got fuel (read beer) and headed out. We headed out to Calcaisu cove again and stayed there for awhile then headed over to Cody park to pick up Amanda who was in town from College. What sucks is we only have one pic from the whole day. I dont remember if steve or amanda had a camera. Anyhow, after picked them up we headed back to the cove and kicked back.

After a while we decided to go see if the waterfall was still running. Getting over there it was apparent it was not, but it was still a nice cove to hang out in so we parked. This time we did something even better than running other people off, we BLOCKED the whole cove so other boats couldn't get behind us...nice. Back there swam and had a good time. But soon we ran outta beer. So I made the mistake of heading towards shades to get more beer. This was STUPID. The water was so rough, and coming back we hit a monsoon of a wave that hit so hard it knocked levis hat off, crushed steve's nuts, blew off liz's glasses, and cut levi's nose. Frank and I were unscathed :) This in turn caused a huge rip in the front seat which we had to play seamstrees to fix. After shades we headed over to drapers cove and hung out there for a while before we had to take Amanda back to her car.

All in all it was a great weekend, and thanks so much to John for letting us use the boat. The worst part is we had to go back to work, but it was a great labor day.
